SUMMARY:Vortrag | Alexandre Bergel, Universidad de Chile
DESCRIPTION:Abstract:\nThe Infoviz research community has produced expressive visualizations to analyze complex and\nsophisticated data. In this talk, we will review two visualization techniques, Cubix and VisualID\nglyphs, in the context of software engineering.\nWe have revisited these two techniques and characterized the divergences on usability in a\nsoftware engineering context.\nThe talk will demonstrate these two visualization techniques and conclude with some open\nchallenges in the field of software visualizations. \nSpeaker's Bio:\nAlexandre Bergel is Assistant Professor and researcher at the University of Chile. Alexandre\nBergel and his collaborators carry out research in software engineering and software quality, more\nspecifically on code profiling, testing and data visualization.\nAlexandre Bergel has authored over 90 articles, published in international and peer reviewed\nscientific forums, including the most competitive conferences and journals in the field of software\nengineering. Alexandre has participated to over 85 program committees of international events.\nAlexandre has also a strong interest in applying his research results to industry. Several of his\nresearch prototypes have been turned into products and adopted by major companies in the\nsemi-conductor industry and certification of critical software systems.\nAlexandre co-authored the book Deep Into Pharo.
