I am the manager of the collaborative research center SFB-TRR 161 (http://www.sfbtrr161.de/) funded by the German research foundation DFG (http://www.dfg.de/). I coordinate the (research) activities and finances of this research center and also manage the integrated graduate school.

I received my PhD in 2015. My dissertation has the title "Visualization for Integrated Simulation Systems" and can be viewed here: Dissertation.

 

Research

My research interests cover both, scientific and information visualization. I am interested in flow visualization and the visualization of vector and tensor fields, glyph-based visualization methods, GPU methods, the visualization of (dynamic) graphs and workflows, aesthetic and artistic visualizations, and recently the visualization of eye-tracking data.

 

During my time as a PhD student, I was part of the Cluster of Excellence Simulation Technology (SimTech). My project "Vizualisation for integrated simulation systems" was included in the project network 8 - "Integrated data management, workflow and visualisation to enable an integrative systems science" of SimTech. It dealt with the usage of workflow technology for visualization tasks. Comparative and combined visualization of heterogeneous data and uncertainty visualization were also part of this research project. I have also done some reasearch in the area of  vector and tensor field visualization.
